A BILL to amend and reenact section four-a, article nine, chapter
twenty-two-c of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine
hundred thirty-one, as amended, relating to continuing the oil
and gas conservation commission.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:

That section four-a, article nine, chapter twenty-two-c of the
code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as
amended, be amended and reenacted to read as follows:
§22C-9-4a. Termination of commission; reports.


(a) The commission is hereby continued until the first day of
July, two thousand one.

(b) On or before the thirty-first day of December, one
thousand nine hundred ninety-eight, and for the next two consecutive years thereafter, the oil and gas conservation
commission shall submit a report annually to the joint committee on
government operations of its activities for the year and any
recommendations for improving the function of the commission.

Pursuant to the provisions of article ten, chapter four of
this code, the oil and gas conservation commission shall continue
to exist until the first day of July, two thousand five,
unless
sooner terminated, continued or reestablished pursuant to the
provisions of that article.
